What do you think of when you hear the term Geography?

We all have different ideas and thoughts as to what Geography is. For instance, geography is the study of the Earth and its people or a look at the Earth's climate. Similarly geography can be termed as the relative arrangements of features and places on Earth. However all in all, Geography is the study of the Earth's surface and its people.

Geography covers a vast area of study. However, there are two main subdivisions of geography, they is human geography and physical geography. Human geography covers topics such as settlement, population and industry while on the other hand physical geography highlights areas such as weather, erosion and soils. Geography also looks at cartography which is the study and production of maps and geographic charts. During this course of study we will discuss different areas in geography so as to make us more aware of where we live. Some of the topics include Maps and Field Study, Coasts, Industry, Population and Weather and Climate just to name a few.

Whatever your liking is, it is important that you have fun while learning in geography class and also expand your knowledge about the world you live in.
